Diana Dumas

Diane Dumas (1972) is an artist with triple nationality (Brazilian, Swiss and Portuguese), living in several countries and extremely influenced by several ethnicities. She currently lives in São Paulo, SP, since 2000. The artist has the symbolic poetics of telling stories and awakening emotions through pulsating ideas transformed into painting. Her works generally deal with the concept of plot, there are multiple relationships that are established in the links between the suggested images, showing a soul need to share with the world explosive fragments of her concepts (reflections and analysis). Her paintings are constructions like enigmas, shots of a harmonious chaos that evoke feelings through a colourful dynamism, which highlights the connection of puerile innocence with the responsibility of maturity. Through this creation with multiple perceptions, the look at the plurality of information within each work is reinforced, in a world of multiplicity, accentuating the essence of the implicit message and enabling participation in dialogues, in which the articulated forms and colours allow the most diverse readings. A differential in most of his works is that they can be seen from all angles and in the most different ways, thus multiplying the observer's potential for interpretation. The painting of the panels is enlarged on the sides, discarding the limitation of a frame and the signature is not on the front in order to avoid any kind of influence on the whole. It is up to each person to let themselves be carried away by the suggestions proposed and/or by individual perceptions. His artistic production employs paintings on panels and drawings and the material handled of his preference is acrylic paint, 3 dimensional, crayons gel and stylos liquid ink, encouraging the direct interactive contact of touch with the work.
