Hermes de Araújo

Hermes de Araújo, son of Master Jotacê and brother of Jan Araújo, renowned Bahian artists, was encouraged by his father to develop his talent for art and his own style from a young age.
The city of Lençóis, in the interior of Bahia in Brazil, inspires the art of the ceramist, who, together with his father, moulds ceramic figures and mosaics that resemble saints, but with their own characteristics, inspired by elements and colours of fauna and flora. 
Hermes creates beautiful images of angels, religious figures, animals and Indians. Each piece tells us a bit of the Brazilian culture with the colourful colours typical of this artist.
