Silvio Severino

Silvio Severino is a contemporary artist originally from Porto Alegre, Brazil, now based in Cork, Ireland. His artistic practice encompasses photography, analog and digital collage, GIF animation, and experimental video. Using these techniques, he explores themes such as identity, consumerism, sexuality, and the trivialization of media. His work often blurs the boundaries between analog and digital, creating visual narratives that challenge traditional conventions in contemporary art.

Severino has gained recognition in the European art scene through participation in international exhibitions and festivals. In 2019, he curated the exhibition "Between Worlds," showcasing life between Mexico and Ireland. He also created the poster and trailer for the IndieCork Film Festival, and his experimental film "MEAT" was selected for the "Free Radicals" segment at the Cork International Film Festival that same year. These contributions highlight his versatility and innovative approach across multiple media.

Currently, Severino works from his studio in Cork, where he collaborates with fellow artists and cultural institutions. His studio is a creative hub for experimentation and production, enabling him to continually expand his interdisciplinary practice. His artworks are accessible to collectors and art enthusiasts internationally, reflecting a dynamic engagement with contemporary art platforms and audiences.
