Lenny Lopes

She is a Brazilian artist who lives and works in London. She works in a predominantly abstract style with paint, resin and photography to express the beauty of Brazilian culture and nature. Lenny was born in Maranhão and grew up in Brasília. She has travelled around the world and experienced a great diversity of cultures. From this, a love of nature and beauty has flourished. Her childhood experiences have influenced her desire to create, she explains, “Being one of eleven brothers and sisters you must be creative to get attention. My parents were especially creative in their own way, which i have inherited. With their influence and guidance i have followed my dreams and have never looked back. Today I feel privileged to create beautiful pieces of art”. Lenny studied at the London School of Photography, the British Academy of Photography(University of Westminster), the London College of Fashion and The Chelsea school of Drama.

The works of Lenny Lopes combine her interpretation of her visions of life and nature into her unique style of Brazilian post Impressionist painting,  the vivid abstract works in acrylic, resin and ink and  art photography.

As to the sources her inspiration, the artist explains, ‘When feelings of joy, happiness, sadness or despair came upon me, I ran to the waterfront and shared laughter or tears with the sky and the sea. My soul attempts to echo Nature’.

Through her work, Lenny attempts to show the beauty of  color within a contemporary cultural context.
