Fernanda Paneque

She was born and raised in São Paulo and as a profession she worked for many years in the area of aesthetic medicine, however, since very young has proximity with the arts. She has a vast lineage of artists in the family and has always had great incentive to follow the path of arts.
But it was in 2020, that she felt ready to leave her corporate career and invest all her time and study into the world of the arts.
The textile arts took over her heart and Fernanda found a huge admiration for the greats of tapestry such as Jacques Douchez, Norberto Nicola and Jean Gillon, however her greatest source of inspiration comes from the indigenous Brazilian artisans and weavers. Fernanda brings the concept of connection to her works, exploring the various forms of interlacing the threads and the connections related to nature, her origins
origins and descents, the relations between body and mind and all the questions that
human existence.
Fernanda considers herself a restless soul and is always seeking to challenge herself and bring
new techniques and materials to her works, which are made between handloom, punch needle
manual, punch needle and tufting.
Fernanda currently resides in Guarujá, on the coast of São Paulo and has sold her work in Brazil and Mexico, where she participated in an artistic exchange.
