In order to celebrate the “Holly Festival” in India, people cover their body with red powder. This powerful image was captured with the rays of sun, which emphasizes the moment of face’s expression.

Sônia Cardoso was born in Mozambique in 1964 and lives in Portugal. She is an artist, mother, educator and professional therapist. A graduate in Modern Languages and Literature, she discovered her fascination with painting and drawing in 2009. Her daughter helped her to develop her natural talent, and she also did some professional training in order to develop her knowledge of painting and drawing techniques.
Her painting is based on photography. It draws on her creativity and imagination, while remaining faithful to the essence of the image projected. Her first painting was sold to a beauty salon in Lagos, Portugal in 2010.
In 2017 she set up the event`Sem Fronteiras` in Lagos, and exhibited some of her works there. Sônia also produces T-shirts and handbags and sells them all over the world.
